BOSTON, MA, May 26, 2026 – Mazda Motor Corporation (Mazda) will use PTC Codebeamer to bring requirements, testing and validation into a traceable workflow for software-defined vehicle development (SDV). The deployment gives Mazda a structured data foundation for managing safety-critical software work, linking Model-Based Development data with validation results and replacing legacy tools.
PTC Codebeamer will help Mazda standardize development workflows across vehicle programs and maintain end-to-end traceability. It connects requirements, test activity and validation results, giving engineering teams transparency of each development stage identify and resolve issues, reduces errors, and supports compliance.
“As our vehicles become increasingly software driven, it is essential that our product development teams operate within a connected and disciplined development environment,” said Mr. Tomohiko Adachi, supreme principal engineer, KURUMA development division, Mazda. “Codebeamer helps us strengthen requirements traceability and visibility, supporting greater alignment across teams as we continue to evolve our development approach.”
Codebeamer helps Mazda identify issues, enforce strict checkpoints and reduce risks that can emerge late in product development. It will also support a project knowledge base that lets teams reuse decisions, requirements and test results across related engineering work.
“Mazda is embracing software-defined vehicle development,” said Robert Dahdah, chief revenue officer, PTC. “Using Codebeamer helps consolidate dispersed documentation, supporting requirements management and collaboration, enabling faster decision-making, more efficient product development cycles, and enhanced quality, innovation, and collaboration.”
PTC places Codebeamer within its Intelligent Product Lifecycle portfolio, which focuses on extending product data from engineering into enterprise processes. This data foundation can help manufacturers manage product complexity, meet regulatory requirements, improve quality and support AI-driven workflows across product development.
