CLAY, NY, June 15, 2026 – Micron Technology’s semiconductor manufacturing complex in New York has entered its first-phase delivery stage, with Bechtel selected as the engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) partner. The site, at White Pine Commerce Park in Onondaga County, is planned as the nation’s largest semiconductor manufacturing facility.
The project is described as the largest private investment in New York state history. Over the next 30 years, it is projected to add approx. $16.7 billion per year in real economic output in the state and approx. $5.4 billion per year in personal income for New Yorkers.
Micron’s memory manufacturing complex is expected to generate 50,000 jobs in New York, including more than 4,500 construction jobs. At peak construction, the work will support skilled craft professionals, including union trades, apprentices, local training program graduates, specialty contractors, suppliers and construction professionals across the state. Micron and Bechtel plan to conduct community outreach as they build the project team and supply chain, with a focus on developing the local supplier base and trade labor ecosystem needed to construct the fabs. For every direct Micron hire, almost six additional jobs are expected to be created in the state economy.
