COLUMBIA, MD, Sep 11, 2026 – Morpholio, part of Vectorworks, has launched Trace for Business, an enterprise tier for deploying Morpholio Trace across organizations through the Vectorworks customer portal. The new tier adds invoice-based purchasing, centralized license administration, Vectorworks single sign-on and Mobile Device Management for companies managing Trace across multiple users.
Centralized Purchasing and License Management
Organizations can purchase subscriptions through invoice-based workflows and assign licenses through Vectorworks accounts. Administrators can manage user access centrally and adjust deployments as project requirements change. Existing subscriptions remain available, while current Trace B2B customers will retain their licenses and continue receiving Trace Pro updates.
“Trace was built to preserve the joy and immediacy of drawing, and now we’re making sure that joy scales to an entire firm without losing any of its soul,” said Mark Collins, Vectorworks principal software engineer and Morpholio co-founder. “Business tools shouldn’t get in the way of design tools. Trace for Business gives IT the control it needs and gives designers the sketching experience they already love.”
Vectorworks single sign-on lets users access Trace through their organization’s existing Vectorworks identity. Trace users can move projects, stencils and custom color palettes into a new Vectorworks account.
IT Controls for Enterprise Deployment
Mobile Device Management support lets IT teams control application access and configure settings for storage, exports, AI features and other Trace functions. Organizations purchasing five or more licenses receive phone support and personal onboarding.
“Enterprise deployment shouldn’t be tedious,” said Vectorworks chief revenue officer Nicole Davison. “With MDM support, IT teams can deploy Trace the same way they deploy the rest of their design software, and designers keep drawing working exactly the way they always have.”
Trace Ultra Expands BIM and CAD Workflows
Trace for Business also provides access to Trace Ultra, a new product tier scheduled for public availability later this year. The tier extends Trace for vector-based BIM and CAD workflows. Its first capability increases the maximum number of layers per project from 25 to 50.
The release follows the Morpholio Trace integration introduced with Vectorworks 2026 Update 5, which connects freehand iPad sketches with Vectorworks design files and documentation.
Trace for Business is available through the Vectorworks customer portal. Individual subscribers can continue accessing Morpholio Trace through the Apple App Store.
