Nanopower Semiconductor opened an Asia Pacific sales office in Hong Kong SAR as demand grows for battery-powered electronics that can operate longer without increasing battery size. The company is positioning its nPZero ultra-low-power technology for connected electronics, Industrial IoT, smart sensing hardware, medical devices and asset-tracking products that require continuous sensor monitoring with lower power consumption.
The Hong Kong office will support customers and partners across Asia with sales, technical support, design expertise and customer collaboration. The office brings Nanopower closer to product teams working on compact devices, smaller batteries and power-limited electronics.
Svein Egil Nielsen, CEO of Nanopower Semiconductor, said: “Opening our Hong Kong office is a really important moment for Nanopower. Asia is driving so much innovation in low-power and connected electronics, and having a local presence allows us to work much more closely with customers and partners across the region. We see huge potential for nPZero as designers look for smarter ways to extend battery life and create more efficient intelligent systems.”
Anthony Carter, VP global sales, added: “Being closer to customers and distribution partners helps us move faster and support opportunities earlier in the design cycle. More and more companies are struggling with unnecessary MCU wake-ups, short battery life, and increasing system complexity. nPZero solves real problems for designers, and we’re excited to bring that capability to more customers across Asia.”
Ming Kei Lam, director of sales APAC commented: “Customers across Asia really value local engagement and local support. Having a base in Hong Kong allows us to work directly with customers, understand their challenges, and support them with local expertise and strong regional relationships. We’re looking forward to helping customers across Asia unlock the benefits of ultra-low-power intelligent systems with nPZero.”
