
Nanopower Semiconductor has signed a global distribution agreement with Rutronik for two devices that manage sensors and peripherals while a host microcontroller stays powered down. The nPZero G1S and nPZ2100 handle repetitive monitoring tasks in battery-powered electronics and wake the processor only when an event requires attention.
Both devices use Nanopower’s nPZero platform. The G1S supports up to four sensors, with idle current consumption of 100 nA and polling consumption of 1 µA.
The nPZ2100 supports up to six peripherals and adds system monitoring, timing and energy-management capabilities. It has idle current consumption of 200 nA and polling consumption of 1 µA.
Target applications for the nPZ2100 include IoT sensors, asset tracking, smart buildings, industrial sensing, wearables and energy-harvesting systems.
