NetActuate Updates Networking Platform for Edge Infrastructure

Platform update introduces Cloud Routers, Magic Mesh, Layer 3 firewalling, VPC load balancing, and traffic analytics

RESEARCH TRIANGLE, NC, June 25, 2026 – NetActuate has expanded its Networking platform with self-service controls for virtual routing, private mesh connectivity, Layer 3 firewalling, VPC load balancing, BGP automation and traffic observability across NetActuate infrastructure.

The update gives infrastructure teams direct control over routing, private connectivity, firewall policies, load balancing, BGP configuration and traffic visibility.

NetActuate ties the release to three operational pressures:

  • AI and real-time workloads moving compute, inference and data closer to users;
  • Cost and repatriation concerns tied to hyperscaler lock-in and egress fees;
  • Data-sovereignty and geographic-compliance requirements that affect where traffic and data reside.

“The hyperscaler era trained teams to trade control for convenience, and they’re done making that trade,” said Mark Mahle, CEO of NetActuate. “This release gives customers hyperscaler-grade networking primitives with none of the lock-in. They can architect exactly the network they need and run all of it from a single portal, with the transparency and flexibility that independent infrastructure demands.”

What’s New: Products and Platform Capabilities

Cloud Routers

Cloud Routers add virtual router deployment inside the NetActuate platform, with management available through the web UI or API. The routers support multiple VRFs natively, static and BGP routing, full SNAT and DNAT configuration, and WireGuard tunnels. The routers can be used with any NetActuate service and paired with VPC for BGP routing into third-party platforms, Internet Exchanges or enterprise networks.

Magic Mesh

Magic Mesh provides one-click interconnection between two Cloud Routers. The capability allows teams to build overlay networks from the portal or API and connect sites across the NetActuate platform or across other clouds. Cross-cloud mesh connectivity is supported out of the box.

Stateful Firewall

For security controls, NetActuate has added a Layer 3 firewall for its edge IaaS. Customers can define rule sets, assign them to virtual machines and apply firewall policies automatically at deployment through the portal or API.

VPC Load Balancing

VPC Load Balancing adds load balancer deployment onto VPC resources for traffic distribution and resilience in private cloud environments. NetActuate describes the capability as the first step on its roadmap toward edge balancers and load balancers deployable to any PoP or fronted by Anycast, with traffic distribution across the NetActuate platform and third-party infrastructure.

BGP Features

The release also expands BYOIP/BGP unicast capabilities for customers using colocation, bare metal or VM deployments outside the BGP Anycast platform. New automation includes on-demand IRR/RPKI updates and hundreds of BGP communities, with support for automation through NetActuate’s suite of DevOps tooling.

Visibility and Control in the Customer Portal

The new NetActuate Customer Portal brings configuration, monitoring and management for the Networking capabilities into one interface. The Networking section is reorganized around the expanded suite and now includes added features. Customers can pull analytics on any prefix, including group- and prefix-level views of inbound traffic, the data centers and nodes, and traffic-source detail.

The additions give teams a self-service way to operate network infrastructure across unicast, BGP or Anycast deployments on infrastructure they control.
