SANTA CLARA, CA, Sep 22, 2026 – OMNIVISION’s OX08D30 8-megapixel CMOS image sensor uses TheiaCel technology to mitigate LED flicker in exterior automotive cameras. It extends single-exposure dynamic range for advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) and autonomous driving (AD) applications.
LED flicker can interfere with camera detection of illuminated traffic signals and signs. OMNIVISION’s 2.1-micron TheiaCel technology combines lateral overflow integration capacitors (LOFIC) with its DCG high dynamic range (HDR) technology. OMNIVISION reports detection ranges up to 200 meters with the OX08D30. The sensor is pin-to-pin compatible with the OX08D10 and addresses low-light imaging, high-temperature performance and color stability.

This further enhances LED flicker mitigation (LFM), providing the best image quality possible, improving driving safety on the road.”
The OX08D30 reports 20% lower power consumption and a 50% smaller size than other image sensors in its category. The OX08D30 uses the company’s a-CSP packaging technology. Samples are available, and the sensor is in mass production.
