OPmobility Expands U.S. Operations

Headquarters in Troy, Michigan consolidates operations across four business units and supports plans to double regional sales by 2030

PARIS, France, Oct 28, 2025 – OPmobility aims to double its U.S. sales by 2030 compared to 2024. The company opened its new North America headquarters in Troy, Michigan, where the members of the founding family of OPmobility, the board of directors and chairman Laurent Burelle marked 50 years of U.S. operations. OPmobility also held the third MIT x OPmobility Symposium in the United States, focusing on the future of mobility.

The Troy headquarters opening included Laurent Burelle, chairman of the board; Laurent Favre, chief executive officer; and Félicie Burelle, managing director of OPmobility. Michigan lieutenant governor Garlin Gilchrist II and French ambassador M. Laurent Bili also attended, along with company board members, officials, and the North America team. OPmobility operates 26 plants and nine R&D centers across the United States, Mexico, and Canada, employing nearly 8,000 people.

In the United States, OPmobility operates 12 plants and six R&D centers employing about 3,400 people. These sites supply nearly 20 U.S. and global mobility manufacturers, including the “Detroit Three” and electric vehicle (EV) companies. The group focuses on mobility trends such as electrification, connectivity, and autonomous mobility, and plans to add two more plants within five years.

The Troy headquarters bring together OPmobility’s four business units, offering solutions in exterior and lighting systems, complex modules, energy storage, and hydrogen and battery electrification.

Laurent Favre declared: “Thanks to its industrial expertise and ability to adapt, OPmobility has become a key player in the North American region. With Marissa West, Executive Vice-President, Chairperson North America, joining the team, we plan to accelerate our development in the United States, with the objective to double its revenue in the region by 2030. By bringing together our four Business Groups under one single roof, OPmobility will accelerate our geographical, technological and customer diversification strategy for all types of mobility”.
