Former Praxair executive brings industrial gases, engineered equipment and energy transition experience to Protium

LONDON, UK, Aug 24, 2026 – Protium has appointed Ed Hotard, chairman and chief executive officer of SIAD Americas LLC, to its advisory board.

Hotard has spent more than three decades in industrial gases, engineered equipment, technology, and investment. At SIAD Americas, he oversees the expansion of the company’s engineering operations across the Americas, pairing SIAD’s technologies with fabrication capabilities.

Hotard advises the chairman of SIAD S.p.A. on technology, energy transition, and growth. He also serves as a board advisor to PT Samator, an Indonesian industrial gases company.

Before SIAD, Hotard was president and chief operating officer of Praxair Inc. (now Linde plc), and chairman of Monitor Group China (now Deloitte Consulting). He also led SIAD’s engineered equipment business in China. Hotard has been a venture partner at ARCH Venture Partners, an operating partner at Hao Capital, and a senior advisor to Warburg Pincus China.

Hotard has served on the boards of more than 20 private and public companies in the United States, Europe, and Japan, plus three Chinese state-owned enterprises and five nonprofit and industry association boards.
