MELBOURNE, Australia, Sep 4, 2026 – PTC has opened a new office in Melbourne to support growing demand for Onshape, its cloud-native CAD and PDM platform. The move is part of PTC’s expansion across Australia and New Zealand. Located on Exhibition Street in Melbourne, the office will serve as a regional hub for customer engagement, technical support, and business development.
The team will focus on expanding Onshape adoption and supporting existing customers. Manufacturers and product development teams in the region are transitioning to cloud-native platforms, and according to PTC, the need for in-region expertise is growing.
“Australia and New Zealand have become important hubs for engineering, advanced manufacturing, and product development, and this expansion reflects PTC’s continued investment in the region,” said David Katzman, general manager of Onshape and Arena at PTC. “By establishing a local presence, we’re creating a foundation to scale our business, expand our partner ecosystem, and support a new generation of product teams building in the cloud.”
“Australia and New Zealand continue to be attractive markets for cloud-based engineering software as manufacturers modernize product development processes and support increasingly distributed teams,” said Josh Graessle, senior manager of industrial transformation at Verdantix. “Local expertise combined with cloud-native technology can play an important role in accelerating adoption.”
