KARLSRUHE, Germany and HANGZHOU, China, Dec 22, 2025 – PTV Group has signed an agreement with transportation research and investment organizations in Zhejiang province to explore digital twin technology for transportation infrastructure projects.
The effort was formalized through a memorandum of understanding (MoU) between PTV Group, Zhejiang Communications Investment Group Research Global Co., Ltd. (Fundamental Research Laboratory of Transportation Metaverse), and the Zhejiang Zhongnan Science and Technology Innovation Cooperation Center.
The collaboration combines PTV Group’s transportation simulation and modeling expertise with digital and metaverse technologies developed by its Zhejiang-based partners. The effort focuses on addressing engineering challenges in transportation system development.
The partners will initially focus on infrastructure projects starting with tunnel scenarios. The plan is to integrate virtual metaverse and scenario simulation technologies from the Fundamental Research Laboratory of Transportation Metaverse with PTV Group’s simulation software to support future infrastructure projects.
“We are proud to contribute our expertise to this groundbreaking infrastructure project while also learning from China’s remarkable pace of development,” said Ryan Wong Wenshen, managing director APAC at PTV Group. “The insights gained through this collaboration have strong potential to be applied across the Asia-Pacific region and beyond.”
