SAN DIEGO, CA, Aug 4, 2026 – Qualcomm has completed acquisition of Modular Inc., adding the MAX platform, Mojo programming language and Modular Cloud to its AI software portfolio. Modular’s software supports generative and agentic AI workloads across CPUs, GPUs, NPUs and custom silicon deployed in devices, data centers, edge infrastructure and industrial systems.
Qualcomm plans to use Modular’s software across devices, data centers, edge infrastructure, personal AI systems and industrial applications. Modular will continue supporting heterogeneous computing environments that include CPUs, GPUs, NPUs and custom silicon. Mojo, MAX and Modular Cloud will remain separate products and brands under Qualcomm Technologies. Qualcomm will continue funding and supporting their development.
Chris Lattner, co-founder and CEO of Modular, will become executive vice president of Advanced AI Software and Platforms at Qualcomm.
