SAN DIEGO, CA, July 28, 2026 – At Samsung Unpacked, Qualcomm Technologies announced that three Snapdragon platforms will power Samsung’s newest devices: the Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra, Galaxy Z Fold8, Galaxy Z Flip8, Galaxy Watch9, Galaxy Watch Ultra21, and new Intelligent Eyewear.
The three platforms are the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 Mobile Platform for Galaxy, the Snapdragon Wear Elite Platform, and the Snapdragon AR1 Gen 1.
Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 for Galaxy
The Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 for Galaxy runs on the Qualcomm Oryon mobile CPU. The platform handles on-device AI processing for camera, gaming, and connectivity features across the Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra, Z Fold8, and Z Flip8.

Snapdragon Wear Elite
Snapdragon Wear Elite, first announced at Mobile World Congress, provides sensor fusion processing and connectivity for the Galaxy Watch9 and Galaxy Watch Ultra2. It processes sensor data for health tracking and guidance on both watches.

Snapdragon AR1 Gen 1
Qualcomm, Samsung, and Google are expanding their Android XR collaboration beyond XR headsets into intelligent eyewear, using the Snapdragon AR1 Gen 1 platform. At Samsung Unpacked, Gentle Monster and Warby Parker unveiled two additional designs.
