KOBLENZ, Germany, Mar 13, 2026 – Quantum Systems and Daimler Truck are in partnership to develop autonomous military logistics vehicles. The collaboration combines Quantum Systems’ autonomy and teleoperation technology with Daimler Truck’s vehicle platforms. The companies aim to support scalable logistics operations for defense missions. Quantum Systems’ MOSAIC ground autonomy kit will enable automated and remote driving functions. The system will integrate with the MOSAIC UXS software suite, which coordinates manned and unmanned systems within existing command and control structures through a single interface.
“Autonomy in military logistics is about multiplying operational capability for modern armed forces,” said Hendrik Kramer, vice president ground domain at Quantum Systems. “By combining proven vehicle platforms with our operationally validated Autonomy Kit, we are enabling armed forces to move supplies in contested environments with fewer personnel, greater resilience, and full integration into existing command structures.”
Introducing the MOSAIC Ground Autonomy Kit
The Quantum Systems MOSAIC Ground Autonomy Kit introduces autonomous and teleoperated functions for military logistics vehicles. One concept supports leader-follower operations, where a driven vehicle directs several unmanned trucks. The configuration can support logistics convoys with fewer onboard drivers. The kit also enables teleoperated driving, allowing vehicles to operate in high risk zones while operators remain at a remote location, considered to be safe. The kit uses integrated sensors and software to support vehicle operation in contested environments.
The MOSAIC Ground Autonomy Kit uses a platform based design that integrates with different vehicle fleets. It is not limited to a single manufacturer. The retrofit architecture allows deployment on existing vehicles and supports gradual introduction of autonomous functions in military logistics operations.
Strengthening European Technological Sovereignty
The partnership carries a European vehicle platform with European technology. The collaboration focuses on autonomy, unmanned systems, and AI within Europe, while reducing technological dependencies. It also contributes to supply chains for security-related technologies within the region.
Daniel Zittel, head of defense sales, Daimler Truck AG says: “By integrating our vehicles into MOSAIC, we will be able to seamlessly connect them with other ground-based systems and unmanned aerial systems in the future. We are continuing to develop our trucks into semi-autonomous and unmanned vehicle platforms.”
The MOSAIC Ground Autonomy Kit expands Quantum Systems’ work into the unmanned ground systems sector. The program extends the company’s autonomy technologies beyond aerial platforms. The collaboration involves European vehicle manufacturers. The effort focuses on logistics technologies intended for use by modern armed forces.
