TUCSON, AZ, Feb 12, 2026 – Raytheon demonstrated its Coyote Block 3 Non-Kinetic (NK) counter-drone system in a U.S. Army demo. The system defeated drone swarms launched during the exercise and validated launch, flight, intercept and recovery.
Raytheon describes Coyote Block 3NK as a counter-unmanned aircraft system designed to defeat drone swarms using a non-kinetic payload intended to limit collateral damage. The system can return after an intercept and redeploy for follow-on engagements. Raytheon also builds kinetic and non-kinetic Coyote variants for drones ranging from small to large, and says they offer longer-range and higher-altitude coverage than comparable effectors.
“Coyote provides warfighters a cost-effective defense for individual drones and swarms,” said Tom Laliberty, president of land & air defense systems, Raytheon. “We continue to invest in Coyote’s combat-proven capabilities, ensuring that allies around the globe gain an affordable operational advantage over sophisticated and evolving drone threats.”
Raytheon won a counter-drone contract under the U.S. Army’s LIDS program and is ramping production of the Coyote kinetic variant. The company says it is funding capacity increases and performance upgrades to meet global demand for lower-cost counter-drone systems. The updates enable faster launches, higher speeds and longer-range engagements at higher altitudes against UAS carrying heavier payloads.
