ARLINGTON, VA, Apr 21, 2026 – Raytheon has delivered the first Next Generation Jammer (NGJ) pods to the Royal Australian Air Force (RAAF). NGJ is an airborne electronic attack system that uses active electronically scanned arrays operating in the mid-band frequency range to disrupt radar and communication systems during flight. The NGJ is designed to reduce detection of aircraft during missions by interfering with enemy radar and communications.

“This delivery marks a significant milestone in our collaborative efforts with the U.S. Navy and RAAF on NGJ,” said Barbara Borgonovi, president of Naval Power at Raytheon. “This advanced technology will greatly enhance RAAF’s electronic warfare capabilities, safeguarding vital assets on its aircraft and more effectively neutralizing adversary technologies across a wide range of missions.”

Raytheon delivered the first NGJ shipsets in September 2025, ahead of the schedule, and will continue deliveries through 2026. The company has supported the NGJ program with the U.S. Navy and RAAF since its beginning. It also provides on-site deployment and maintenance support in Australia for system operation and mission support.
