MCKINNEY, TX, July 29, 2025 – Raytheon has launched its newest multispectral targeting system variant, the MTS-A HD, bringing visual upgrades to maritime helicopter operations. Designed to boost capabilities for naval helicopter platforms, the MTS-A HD features improved targeting precision, sharper imaging, and operational flexibility.
Raytheon is joining forces with both industry and commercial partners to speed up production and help lower costs for the sensor system. “Navy helicopter pilots need the clearest possible view when flying in hostile areas,” said Bryan Rosselli, president of advanced products & solutions at Raytheon. “Our new high-definition sensor system provides aircrews with superior visual capability, allowing them to make faster and more informed decisions when it matters most.”
The MTS-A HD is the latest sensor in Raytheon’s MTS family, currently used on more than 400 U.S. Navy helicopters. Its modular design allows integration with existing platforms and provides an upgrade path that improves performance without requiring full system replacement.
Beyond U.S. deployments, the MTS-A HD has attracted interest from international partners. Countries including Australia, Denmark, Saudi Arabia, India, Norway, Greece, Spain, and South Korea, as well as other markets in Europe and Asia, are evaluating the system to support their naval operations.
