TOKYO, Japan, Sep 22, 2026 – Ricoh plans to expand inkjet head production with a new facility at its Atsugi site in Kanagawa Prefecture, Japan. The company says the facility will provide capacity to more than double current production over time.
Construction is scheduled to begin in November 2026, with completion planned for the first half of fiscal 2028. The facility will combine manufacturing and quality engineering with automation, AI and digital manufacturing technologies.

Inkjet head manufacturing requires micron-level precision, with technicians maintaining product quality. The new facility will consolidate manufacturing functions currently distributed across multiple buildings at Atsugi. Automated production lines and robotics will accommodate a range of products.
Ricoh will digitally connect production equipment, quality management and logistics operations alongside automated material handling. The company intends to coordinate material and information flows throughout the factory to respond to changing demand.
