IRVINE, CA, Apr 23, 2026 – Roland DG Corporation expanded Roland DG Connect Designer and added ColorMatch to VersaWorks 7, extending its design-to-output workflow with new color control functions for print production. The software connects design, preparation, color control and output in a single workflow, and is designed to reduce steps across the production process for print service providers and manufacturers.
ColorMatch adds color control functions within VersaWorks 7, while the Roland DG Connect Designer links with print output. Roland DG said the updated software supports consistent results and gives users control from concept to production.
Consistent Color, Effortless Results
“With these updates, we are strengthening the role of software at the heart of the Roland DG experience,” said Ryugo Nimura, executive officer, global sales and marketing division, Roland DG. “By reducing complexity in areas like artwork preparation and color control, and improving the overall flow between design and output, we are helping customers focus on what matters most: creativity, productivity and growth.”
From Concept to Production, in One Unified Workspace
Roland DG Connect Designer provides a cloud-based workspace for creating artwork, building templates and preparing layouts for print and cut production. The software generates device-ready settings for Roland DG output devices. The latest update adds the Object Decoration Module and includes enhancements in the Visual Communication Module.
The Object Decoration Module is designed for direct-to-object production and helps users prepare print-ready graphics. It uses Position Guides to place artwork accurately, supports work across multiple items and reduces trial-and-error before final output.
The update expands application options for signage, graphics and customized products. Roland DG Connect Designer also includes an AI Image Generation add-on for creating assets in the same environment. For selected new device purchases, the software is available with three months of free access.
Consistent Color, Simplified with VersaWorks 7
Roland DG has added ColorMatch to VersaWorks 7, extending its RIP software with new color control functions for print production. The software remains Roland DG’s main RIP package, included with new purchases of selected Roland DG printers and available as a free upgrade for users of models supported by VersaWorks 6.
ColorMatch is designed to produce consistent and reproducible color across aging devices, multiple devices of the same model, different Roland DG models and Roland DG and third-party devices. It also adds media profile creation within the RIP, while keeping high image quality output as part of the workflow.
VersaWorks 7 also includes object-level color control, enhanced variable data printing, and improved bleed and overlap settings. These updates are intended to reduce setup time and lower reliance on specialist expertise.
VersaWorks’ ColorMatch will be available through both a subscription option and a one-time purchase. That gives users flexibility in how they access the feature as their production needs change.
Seamless Collaboration Between Software and Print
Roland DG Connect Designer and VersaWorks 7 work together in a workflow that covers design, preparation, color control and output. The software links with Roland DG hardware to generate device-ready settings and print output. The combined workflow is designed to support repeatability across production runs.
Availability
Roland DG Connect Designer Base is available free of charge to Roland DG users. The Object Decoration and Visual Communication modules are available as subscription features, with three months of free access. The AI Image Generation add-on is available as a subscription with a defined usage limit. Trial access is provided within the application.
VersaWorks 7 with ColorMatch is released as a paid add-on, available through either a subscription model or a one-time purchase.
