IRVINE, CA, June 25, 2026 – Roland DG’s VersaStudio BY2-20 launches CMYK + White direct-to-film (DTF) printing to compact desktop decorated apparel production, with a DTF-specific design for small production spaces and environments.
The BY2-20 supports apparel applications including T shirts, sportswear, workwear, décor, and accessories. Its DTF-specific architecture uses dual white ink channels, ink delivery, improved head pressure, enhanced cooling, temperature management, and advanced filtration to support output consistency and production stability.
Roland DG designed the BY2-20 as a DTF system combining hardware, inks, software, media, and support within the Roland DG ecosystem. The Connect Designer, VersaWorks 7, and DG Connect software support artwork creation, RIP preparation, monitoring, and maintenance. Connect Designer provides design tools for artwork production, VersaWorks 7 prepares completed designs for print, and DG Connect supports system monitoring and maintenance.

The BY2-20 is designed for users new to DTF printing while supporting output consistency in professional environments. Roland DG said the system supports continuous production and reduces the hands-on intervention associated with compact DTF systems.
The BY2-20 also supports short-run and on-demand production. Its standalone cutting capability allows users to produce heat-transfer vinyl graphics alongside DTF transfers, including metallic, glitter, and holographic finishes.
Optional 500 ml ink cartridges are available to reduce ink costs and lower the cost per transfer. The VersaStudio BY2-20 uses OEKO TEX Eco Passport certified S-PG2 inks and S-Powder.
