Roland DG Launches Dimense Surface Textured Wallcoverings

The DA-640 printer uses structural ink and heat to create textures up to 2 mm high for residential, hospitality and commercial interiors.

IRVINE, CA, Sep 16, 2026 – Roland DG launched Dimense Surface, an interior wallcovering brand built on its Dimense printing technology. The Dimense DA-640 printer produces the range. A proprietary structural ink sets where texture appears on the media, and heat expands that surface by up to 0.079 inches (2 mm). The brand debuted at the London Design Festival 2026 with the Dimense surface collaboration series.

The series was developed with four design studios:

  • Nice Projects (London)
  • KEIJI ASHIZAWA DESIGN (Tokyo)
  • LOVEISENOUGH (New York)
  • JAM (London)

On the DA-640, newly developed printheads handle high-resolution output. The ink determines where texture appears on the media, and heat activates that surface as it passes through the printer, raising contours, patterns and surface detail.

Dimense Surface also carries in-house wallcovering designs for residential, hospitality and commercial interiors. Roland DG fulfills projects through its network of authorized Dimense print providers.

The brand uses digital manufacturing. Short production runs reduce excess inventory, overproduction and material waste that traditional wallpaper manufacturing generates. The material combines water-based inks with a PVC-free, odorless wallpaper stock. Designers can produce custom wallcoverings with no minimum order requirements.
