IRVINE, CA, Sep 11, 2026 – Roland DG has launched the TrueVis MG2 series, a line of UV printer/cutters that includes the 64-inch MG2-640 and the 30-inch MG2-300. The company says the new machines print about twice as fast as the previous MG Series.
About Twice the Productivity
Roland attributes the speed gain to a newly developed printhead paired with waveform control technology. Faster print speeds let users raise daily output and shorten turnaround times.
Image Quality and Expanded Color Gamut
The printers combine improved ink placement accuracy and Variable Dot Technology with True Rich Color print settings, which balance vivid color reproduction against natural skin tones and neutral grays. Optional orange and red inks join standard CMYK to widen the color gamut and expand Pantone coverage for closer reproduction of brand colors.
Applications and Multi-Layer Printing
Target applications include window graphics, backlit displays, stickers, labels, packaging prototypes, promotional materials and decorative graphics.
Multi-layer printing stacks CMYK, White and Gloss inks to run up to five layers in a single pass, removing the need to reverse-feed media between layers and reducing the risk of misalignment and media jams. The machines carry 72 built-in texture libraries for effects such as gloss finishes and embossed textures. An integrated take-up system supports continuous, unattended overnight runs and keeps media off the floor.
Integrated Print & Cut
Both models print and contour cut in a single workflow and are compatible with Roland DG and Graphtec cutting devices.
Lower Running Costs
New 1,000 ml ink pouches lower ink costs and reduce how often operators change ink. Automated media setup and calibration simplify operation, and Direct Print runs jobs straight from the device. An automatic fabric wiper keeps print quality consistent and minimizes routine maintenance.
Software and Remote Monitoring
The series runs on VersaWorks 7 RIP software for color management and production controls, and Roland DG Connect adds remote device monitoring and production analytics.
