Custom TR-808 faceplates for the SP-404MKII will be live-printed using UV flatbed technology during a limited-time event. Attendees can see classic designs applied to modern music gear on-site.

IRVINE, CA, Aug 6, 2025 – Roland DG Corporation will be collaborating with Roland Corporation (the music company) as part of a special “808 DAY” event that will take place August 8-31, 2025, at the Roland Store Tokyo – the retail store with displays where customers can experience the fun of creating music and Roland brand. As part of the celebration, those who visit the store will get a look at Roland’s TR-808 – the programmable percussion machine, and customers who purchase a new SP-404MKII electronic audio sampler will receive a faceplate featuring a TR-808 inspired design custom-printed on a Roland DG VersaOBJECT MO-240 benchtop UV flatbed printer.

The MO-240 printer can print onto the metal faceplate of the SP-404MKII audio sampler. Its color range, including orange and red inks, also allows it to reproduce the colors of the TR-808.
