ROTHERHAM, UK, Aug 5, 2025 – Sarah Champion, Member of Parliament (MP) for Rotherham, visited Productive Machines to learn how its SenseNC software is helping UK manufacturers reduce waste and speed up production. The visit highlighted how this technology could make reshoring viable and strengthen the machining industry.
The visit included a demonstration of the company’s tap testing process, which helps improve machining operations by identifying and eliminating inefficiencies. Ms. Champion also met with the Productive Machines team to discuss how their technology supports UK manufacturers in improving productivity, reducing waste, and advancing reshoring efforts to bring manufacturing back to the UK.

Alex Cotton from AML Sheffield, an aerospace manufacturer and a customer of Productive Machines, also supported the visit. Alex presented a finished part produced by AML using Productive Machines’ SenseNC technology. The demonstration showed how the technology helped AML reduce cycle times, enhance quality, and make UK-based production cost-competitive with overseas manufacturing alternatives.
Speaking about her visit, Sarah Champion, MP said: “It’s inspiring to see the incredible work being done by Productive Machines right here in Rotherham. Their cutting-edge technology is not only boosting productivity and sustainability for UK manufacturers but also making reshoring a viable option. This is exactly the kind of innovation we need to strengthen British industry and create high-value jobs locally.”

Dr. Erdem Ozturk, founder and CEO of Productive Machines, stated: “We were honored to host Sarah Champion MP and showcase the impact of our technology on UK manufacturing. SenseNC is designed to empower manufacturers to achieve world-class results, and it’s exciting to see how our work aligns with the broader goals of supporting British industry and sustainability. We look forward to continuing to drive innovation and growth in the sector.”
The visit showed how Productive Machines helps UK manufacturers increase productivity, improve quality, and reduce environmental impact. Its work with AML Sheffield proves technology can make UK manufacturing globally competitive.

About Productive Machines

Productive Machines is a UK-based deep tech software company spun out from the University of Sheffield’s Advanced Manufacturing Research Centre (AMRC) in 2021. The company developed SenseNC, designed to improve the machining of mission-critical components in aerospace, automotive, and precision engineering sectors. SenseNC integrates with CAM platforms, including Siemens NX CAM and Mastercam, to predict and eliminate machining issues – such as chatter vibrations and tool breakages – before production begins on CNC machines. This process helps manufacturers achieve faster cycle times, first-time-right production, and cost savings of £30,000 to £100,000 per machine tool annually, while also reducing waste, energy consumption, and supporting sustainability goals. Headquartered at the Advanced Manufacturing Park Technology Centre in Rotherham, UK, Productive Machines has raised over £3M in funding.
