RUEIL-MALMAISON, France, June 16, 2026 – Schneider Electric and Kraken are partnering to expand electricity demand flexibility for utilities and distribution system operators through grid monitoring, congestion forecasting and load shifting. The companies will develop solutions that help Distribution System Operators (DSO) and utilities monitor grid conditions, forecast congestion and shift electricity demand in real time.
The partnership is aimed at improving the use of existing network capacity and supporting connections for data centers and industrial loads. By shifting demand and reducing congestion, the approach could defer grid upgrades, lower system costs and limit cost increases for consumers and industry.
Households and businesses could provide flexibility through electric vehicles, home batteries, solar PV, industrial loads and utility-scale energy resources. Coordinating these assets can reduce network congestion, support grid balancing and create value across the electricity system. Analysts estimate the global value of demand-side flexibility across industrial and commercial sectors could reach up to $1 trillion per year.
Schneider Electric will provide visibility into network constraints through its One Digital Grid Platform and EcoStruxure DERMS. The company will also use EcoStruxure for predictive optimization, energy intelligence, control and flexible load management.
Kraken’s platform connects and orchestrates EVs, home batteries and heat pumps, providing visibility across low-voltage networks. Kraken also coordinates those devices with utility-scale storage, generation assets and industrial loads to shift consumption and balance the grid.
