DO-160- and MIL-STD-810-qualified units support guidance, stabilization, surveillance plus precision positioning
Sensata’s Motors Portfolio

SWINDON, UK, July 21, 2026 – Sensata Technologies has expanded its motor portfolio to cover flight control actuation and propulsion systems, unveiling the high-power density motors at the Farnborough Airshow. The motors are designed for aerospace and defense platforms that demand precise, reliable performance in harsh operating conditions.

“Motion control is evolving from a component-level requirement to a mission-critical capability in modern aerospace & defense systems,” said Stuart Parker, vice president and general manager for Aerospace and Defense Business, Sensata Technologies. “We are expanding our high-power density motors portfolio to address emerging flight control actuation and propulsion opportunities, where precision, efficiency, and reliability are essential. This marks an important step forward in how we support our customers across next-generation aerospace platforms.”

The motors use an application-specific design approach, allowing customers to optimize performance for individual mission requirements rather than using standard off-the-shelf components. The design emphasizes size, weight, power, and cost (SWaP-C) optimization. Sensata manufactures the motors at AS9100-certified facilities in the United States and Mexico.

The portfolio is built to withstand shock, vibration, altitude, and temperature extremes, meeting RTCA/DO-160 and MIL-STD-810 requirements.

The motor portfolio supports applications including flight control actuation, propulsion, stabilization, guidance, surveillance, targeting, and precision positioning systems.
