ATLANTA, GA, July 31, 2025 – Siemens has invested in Emporia Energy to strengthen its smart home energy portfolio. The partnership targets rising residential power demands by providing homeowners technology to track usage, costs, and manage consumption.
Siemens and Emporia developed the Inhab Energy Monitor to deliver real-time data on household energy usage. The device tracks power consumption for appliances, including EV chargers and solar generation systems, and offers actionable tips to reduce costs and improve efficiency.
“Our evolving relationship with Emporia underscores Siemens’ commitment to driving innovation and creating greater value for our residential customers that have a growing need for smart home energy management,” said Jacob Middleton, head of residential electrical products at Siemens Smart Infrastructure USA. “Combining Siemens’ strength in power distribution and circuit protection with Emporia’s expertise in developing a suite of Smart Home Energy Management hardware and software offerings allows for both companies to advance our combined commitment to transform smart home energy management.”
As more homes add electric appliances and vehicles, demand and complexity increase for the electrical grid, raising installation and utility costs. Homeowners also face the challenge of managing different power sources to use energy efficiently. In 2024, Siemens introduced Inhab, a suite of Intelligent Habitat solutions designed to give homeowners insight and control over their energy use. Inhab aims to help manage rising electrical needs and costs while delivering savings to homeowners, builders, and contractors.
“Siemens’ investment is a major milestone for Emporia and a strong validation of our approach to smart home energy management,” said Shawn McLaughlin, CEO of Emporia Energy. “Together, we’re making it easier and more affordable for homeowners to understand and automate their energy use – while also building the foundation for a smarter, more resilient grid.”
