Siemens to Acquire Defacto to Add Automated SoC Design

PLANO, TX, July 27, 2026 – Siemens is acquiring Defacto Technologies, adding automated SoC design creation, implementation assessment, and verification to its EDA portfolio. The deal strengthens end-to-end continuity from RTL design, at a time when chiplet-based architectures and ballooning IP block counts make manual SoC assembly increasingly slow and error-prone.

Defacto’s platform automates SoC assembly, design restructuring, and power intent management through a persistent design database. The tooling covers connectivity, timing constraints, and power intent process flows from RTL through signoff.
