Siemens USA CEO Barbara Humpton to Retire on Oct. 1, 2025

WASHINGTON, DC, Oct 1, 2025 – Siemens USA prepares for a leadership change. Barbara Humpton, president and CEO, will retire on Oct 1, 2025. She has served the company for 14 years, including seven as U.S. CEO. Siemens announced that Ann Fairchild, general counsel for Siemens USA, will serve as interim president and CEO. This change takes effect on Oct 1, 2025. During her tenure, Humpton played a central role in strengthening Siemens’s position as a leading U.S. tech company.

During her time as CEO, Siemens invested in U.S. operations. The company committed nearly $700 million to expand manufacturing and launched multibillion-dollar projects to connect industrial systems with digital technologies. Humpton also advanced Siemens’ use of industrial AI, positioning the company to compete in data-driven manufacturing and infrastructure. She emphasized developing talent and encouraging innovation, supporting Siemens’ 45,000 employees across the United States in modernizing infrastructure.

Before becoming CEO of Siemens USA, Humpton was president and CEO of Siemens Government Technologies, where she worked to integrate Siemens’ systems to federal agencies and departments. Humpton has also held external board and advisory roles, connecting Siemens USA with economic, policy, and social priorities.

Fairchild will take on the interim role starting Oct 1. She has been general counsel for Siemens USA since 2017, overseeing legal, compliance, and regulatory work across U.S. operations. With more than 20 years of legal and business experience, she has managed transactions, strengthened corporate governance, and supported Siemens’ initiatives in its largest market.
