IRVINE, CA, May 1, 2026 – Skyworks released the Si86Px family of digital isolators with integrated power for industrial and automotive electronics. The devices combine digital isolation, an isolated DC-DC converter and a miniature transformer in one package. The Si86Px is designed for systems with limited PCB area or no available power source on the isolated side.
The Si86Px integrates signal and power isolation in a single package. The design reduces PCB area, bill-of-materials (BoM) count and design complexity. The devices can provide regulated isolated power for components such as ADCs and sensors.
“At a time when industrial designs demand higher performance in smaller footprints, the Si86Px delivers a complete, easy‑to‑use isolation subsystem,” said Yusuf Jamal, senior vice president and general manager of the RF and mixed-signal intelligence solutions business at Skyworks. “By integrating power and signal isolation with industry‑leading load regulation, designers can simplify their designs without compromising performance.”
Integrated Isolation for Power and Data
Si86Px integrates Skyworks’ digital isolator technology with an isolated DC-DC converter that delivers up to 0.5 W of isolated power. The design reduces the need for external transformers and power modules in isolated systems.
Key specifications include:
- Load regulation (0.1% typical) for powering ADCs and sensors
- Data rates up to 150 Mbps, supporting industrial communication protocols such as SPI and RS‑485
- Common‑mode transient immunity (100 kV/µs) for electrically noisy environments, including motor drives
- Compact WB SOIC‑16/20 package for systems with limited board area
Built for Industrial and Automotive Applications
- Meant for harsh environments – Operates from –40°C to +125°C temperature range and provides 3.75 kVrms isolation for industrial automation, factory equipment and automotive applications
- Simplified system design – Uses an integrated power architecture and low-EMI design to reduce external component requirements
- Tighter load regulation – Delivers 0.1% typical load regulation, compared to 1% typical load regulation for comparable integrated power isolators
- Higher data‑rate capability – Supports data rates up to 150 Mbps, compared with devices rated at 100 Mbps or below
- Robust data integrity – Provides 100 kV/µs common-mode transient immunity (CMTI), for operation in electrically noisy environments
Availability
The Si86Px family is available now.
