Skyted has signed an agreement with Safran Passenger Innovations (SPI) to integrate silent call technology into aircraft cabins. The move brings private voice calling to SPI’s RAVE In-Flight Entertainment (IFE) systems, expanding inflight communication capabilities. The collaboration strengthens secure inflight calls and signals a shift in how passengers communicate during commercial flights.
Skyted technology captures voice at its source and limits its diffusion in noisy environments, making it possible:
- Enables confidential onboard conversations without disturbing co-passengers or prompting cabin crew intervention
- A quieter cabin
- Increased productivity for business travelers
- Secure IFE experience
Through the RAVE open platform, SPI integrates advanced technologies into the RAVE IFE system. The platform supports delivery of new digital services by enabling external solutions to operate within the inflight entertainment environment.
“As truly broadband connectivity grows in the market, SPI’s goal is to bring airlines new digital experiences that anticipate future passenger needs and support the connected environment. Integrating Skyted’s technology introduces a truly disruptive onboard capability: silent, confidential communication that fully preserves cabin quietness and supports an office in the sky” states Mr. John Andrews, VP of business development.

“What if 300 passengers could make a call in an aircraft at the same time? With Skyted, this scenario becomes real: speak softly, be heard clearly even on confidential matters, and do not disturb passengers around you,” says Stéphane Hersen, CEO of Skyted.
SPI and Skyted are aligning technology roadmaps to support confidential onboard communication. The integration combines industrial capability with deeptech innovation to allow private calls without affecting cabin noise. The result advances inflight communication for passengers and airlines.
