Stratasys Launches F870 FDM Printer for Industrial Tooling

Toyota and Rivian are evaluating the machine for manufacturing aids, fixtures and prototyping before commercial availability.

MINNETONKA, MN and REHOVOT, Israel, Sep 10, 2026 – Stratasys has launched the F870 FDM printer, a large-format additive manufacturing platform for industrial manufacturers, automotive OEMs, and aerospace and defense production lines.

The F870 offers a 1000 x 610 x 610 mm (39.4 x 24 x 24 in.) build volume in a fully heated chamber. The machine runs Nylon 12CF, ASA, ABS, and the new FDM ABS Draft (Gray). The carbon-fiber Nylon 12CF provides the strength, stiffness, and durability needed for manufacturing-floor tooling and fixture work.

The platform targets production-support applications such as large fixtures, assembly tools, and inspection gauges, parts that require lengthy machining lead times, plus end-use parts. Stratasys designed it for the throughput and reliability needed for factory-floor deployment.

Toyota Production Engineering in Georgetown, Kentucky, and Rivian Automotive in Plymouth, Michigan, are evaluating the machine across factory-floor tooling, manufacturing aids, and advanced prototyping workflows, ahead of commercial availability.
