MINNETONKA, MN and REHOVOT, Israel, June 2, 2026 – Stratasys has agreed to buy Markforged for $42.5 million in cash, adding continuous carbon fiber 3D printing, metal filament materials and manufacturing software to its additive manufacturing business. The transaction is expected to close in the second quarter of 2026.
The acquisition would expand Stratasys’ distribution channel and add Markforged products and technology to its existing capabilities. Stratasys expects the deal to support demand for lightweight components used in supply chain and manufacturing operations.
“This acquisition further advances our capabilities to meet customers’ growing needs in critical areas such as defense and aerospace at a time when additive manufacturing continues to displace traditional manufacturing for high requirement applications in production,” said Dr. Yoav Zeif, chief executive officer of Stratasys. “We believe that our teams can immediately reinvigorate revenue growth by adding MarkForged, Inc.’s products and software systems as we leverage our leading partner networks. We are confident this transaction will strengthen Stratasys’ position in many of the largest and most structurally critical industries where performance, supply chain resilience, reliability, and scalability are essential.”
Strategic and Financial Benefits:
Adding MarkForged products to Stratasys’ product line will support technical, commercial and financial areas.
- Continuous Carbon Fiber Technology: Markforged’s continuous carbon fiber material technology is used across its FFF 3D printers. The technology supports high-strength, lightweight parts and adds a composite process to Stratasys’ existing composite offerings. Stratasys expects the process to support aerospace and defense applications, including tooling, fixtures, ground support equipment and selected production parts. These parts require mechanical performance, speed and compatibility with regulated industrial settings.
- Manufacturing Software: The transaction would add Markforged’s software capabilities to Stratasys’ existing software work. Markforged software supports manufacturing workflows, remote printing, simulation, inspection and security-related functions. The company also brings experience in customer workflows and connected manufacturing processes.
- Polymer and Metal Filaments: Markforged develops polymer and metal filaments through its manufacturing process. Stratasys expects those materials to broaden its customer base across aerospace and defense, automotive, and food and beverage production.
- Revenue and Cost Outlook: Markforged generated about $70M in revenue in 2025. Within one year of closing, Stratasys expects the acquisition to add to gross margins, deliver cost synergies and contribute positive EBITDA.
- Partner and Reseller Coverage: The transaction would combine Markforged’s partner and reseller network with Stratasys’ channel network. Stratasys expects the combined network to expand geographic coverage, support cross-selling and give customers access to products and service.
