SAN CLEMENTE, CA, Nov 13, 2025 – Swift Engineering was selected as an exhibitor at ATLA Industry Day 2025 in Tokyo, an event focused on strengthening Japan’s defense industry and U.S. defense partners.
Swift partnered with KAAZ to display the Swift Accipiter, a gas-powered, long-endurance VTOL (Vertical Take-off and Landing) UAV. KAAZ, based in Japan, is a supplier of precision components including differentials and gear sets.
The Swift Accipiter UAS (Unmanned Aircraft Systems) delivers fixed-wing efficiency in a compact airframe. The aircraft launches from a bungee/rail and recovers by belly landing. The lightweight launcher and belly-landing method support operations away from airfields and keep the system’s footprint small. The aircraft provides 14 hours of endurance and carries a 10-pound payload, including a 5.5-inch sensor that rotates 180 degrees.

“The purpose of exhibiting at this event for Swift Engineering was to showcase our current drone product lines,” said Hamed Khalkhali, president of Swift Engineering. “It also provided a glimpse for attendees into future products in progress. Swift Engineering hopes to position itself as a reliable supplier to the Ministry of Defense of Japan in the UAV, HAPS and small drone categories.”
The Swift family of UAS spans the short-range Swift Crane VTOL to the long-endurance, gas-powered Swift Accipiter used in military and law-enforcement operations.
