BEND, OR, July 15, 2026 – Synera’s Advanced AI module now uses Tech Soft 3D’s HOOPS AI to search and compare CAD parts, helping engineering teams find similar designs without relying only on file names, tags or file size.

The release was developed with Tech Soft 3D and comes alongside HOOPS AI 1.1. The AI module brings CAD-aware shape intelligence into its engineering workflow automation platform.

The Advanced AI add-in lets users bring CAD files into Synera, create searchable part collections and run similarity searches based on part shape. Engineering teams can use the capability to find related designs, identify potential duplicates and reuse previous designs.

The add-in also supports workflows connected to design, simulation setup, design reuse, costing, manufacturing planning, procurement and PLM/PDM systems. It gives access to geometry inside 3D models, instead of limiting automation to text, metadata or user instructions. The module can connect previous knowledge to new projects by linking similar CAD geometry with business context, including costing, manufacturing processes and procurement data.

Andrew Sartelli, VP of Software Partnerships at Synera said: “With HOOPS AI, we can give engineering agents access to the geometric intelligence they need to understand CAD models, search for similar designs, and support more informed actions inside our customers’ engineering processes.”

Tech Soft 3D’s HOOPS AI provides the CAD-specific intelligence behind Synera’s Advanced AI module. The toolkit gives software applications a way to compare geometry and part structure for engineering use cases.

Synera used HOOPS AI as the shape-understanding foundation for the add-in, instead of building the CAD intelligence layer internally. The company then integrated that capability into its workflow environment for engineering users.

“The next generation of AI-powered CAD software needs to understand more than text and metadata,” said Eric Vinchon, senior director of product strategy at Tech Soft 3D. “It needs to understand the geometry and structure behind engineering data. HOOPS AI provides that CAD-aware foundation, and Synera’s Advanced AI Module shows how it can be applied in practical engineering workflows.”

HOOPS AI 1.1 is available now. The release expands Tech Soft 3D’s framework for applying machine learning to CAD data, with shape intelligence capabilities for part similarity, design reuse and CAD-aware AI workflows.
