BETHLEHEM, PA, June 8, 2026 – Synergis Software opened Adept Experience 2026 with updates to its engineering document management portfolio, including Adept Cloud, Adept AI, Adept Catalyst and a new SOLIDWORKS integration. The releases move Adept into cloud deployment, AI-supported document work, SharePoint collaboration and CAD-connected workflows for asset-intensive engineering teams.
Kristen Tomasic, president, Synergis Software said: “We made commitments to this community about where Adept was going, what was possible, what it would become. After years of investment and thousands of conversations with customers, we’ve arrived at this moment. Cloud-native document management, AI built into the platform, and governed collaboration across the engineering asset lifecycle — this is what the next era of Adept looks like for our customers.”
Adept Cloud
Adept Cloud is available as a fully managed, browser-based SaaS engineering document management system (DMS). It brings Adept document management functions to the cloud without infrastructure, VPN access, IT tickets or weekend upgrades. Adept Cloud is built for organizations where engineering document accuracy affects operational safety, compliance and project outcomes.
For existing Adept customers, workflows, data and permissions carry over during transition. The migration approach is designed to limit relearning and disruption for teams already using Adept.
Security functions include deployment on Amazon AWS, Single Sign-On in every plan, automated vulnerability scanning and third-party penetration testing. The system supports CAD integration, version management, controlled workflows and audit trails.
Todd Cummings, vice president of product strategy, Synergis Software added: “Engineering organizations have been managing infrastructure they never wanted to own. Adept Cloud removes that entirely. The document control, the CAD integration, the version management, the audit trail — all of it is still there. What’s gone is the overhead that was consuming IT resources without adding engineering value.”
Unlimited Users
Every Adept Cloud plan, including Essentials, Professional and Enterprise, includes unlimited users. The access model covers engineers at their desks, field teams and plant-floor users without per-seat costs.
Adept AI
Adept AI works inside Adept Cloud to support engineering teams managing document-heavy processes. The AI capabilities help users find information, process engineering documents and use data already stored in Adept.
Adept Catalyst
Adept Catalyst connects Adept and Microsoft SharePoint through a collaboration gateway. It is designed for capital projects, plant modifications and maintenance work involving contractors, partners and suppliers outside the system of record. Catalyst controls which documents leave Adept and brings documents back through review, approval and version control. External parties collaborate in SharePoint without Adept access or VPN access. At project handover, Adept reflects the built record through maintained governance.
Scott Lamond, vice president of marketing, Synergis Software commented: “Engineering documentation failures don’t announce themselves — they show up at the worst possible moment. A safety incident. A failed inspection. A costly rework after handover that nobody saw coming. Adept and Catalyst are about making sure that moment never arrives.”
SOLIDWORKS Integration
Adept Spring ’26, the latest release of the Adept on-premise system, includes the next-generation Adept SOLIDWORKS integration. The integration adds a task pane interface paired with SOLIDWORKS for search, browse and document operations, along with bidirectional property updating. Integrated visualization and markup tools allow reviewers to access designs without requiring a SOLIDWORKS license.
Adept Experience
Adept Experience is the annual Adept customer conference. The event brings together engineering and operations leaders from across the Americas to share practices, review new Adept capabilities and connect with Synergis staff and peers.
