KLEIN-WINTERNHEIM, Germany and TOULON, France, Sep 9, 2026 – SYSGO and Kontron have released a validated board support package (BSP) that brings SYSGO’s PikeOS hypervisor to the Kontron VX3060, a VPX plug-in card based on 11th Gen Intel core processors. Developers can run PikeOS on the card or on Kontron systems that embed it, including the HARAKAN-F2.
The BSP covers the card’s Ethernet, UART, thermal sensors, voltage monitoring sensors, and mass storage interfaces. Trusted Platform Module integration and Secure Boot are available on request for customers with platform integrity and cyber resilience requirements.
Mixed-criticality and virtualization
The VX3060 targets defense, transportation, and industrial automation applications that require ruggedized hardware. PikeOS operates as a secure hypervisor or as a combined hypervisor and real-time operating system (OS). Developers can run time-critical functions alongside Linux on a single board while keeping workloads separated. The architecture reduces system complexity, size, weight, power consumption, and lifecycle costs.
