Update expands AEC file interoperability with added support for DGN alongside IFC, Revit, Navisworks, and DWG

BEND, OR, Feb 6, 2026 – Tech Soft 3D has added DGN file import support to HOOPS Exchange, expanding the platform’s interoperability for AEC software development. The update extends existing support for IFC, Revit, Navisworks, and DWG, formats widely used to manage large and complex datasets in architecture and engineering workflows.

“By adding DGN support, we’re giving developers the tools they need to build solutions that align with real-world construction and engineering requirements.” Said Marco Salino, product manager, data access and publishing. “This update helps ensure that developers can work with the formats their customers rely on most, without compromising on data quality, performance, or workflow efficiency.”

AEC industries use the DGN format to manage large, complex design datasets across architecture and construction projects. With the added DGN import capability, HOOPS Exchange provides developers access to a core AEC file type. The update extends CAD interoperability and broadens support for 3D engineering tools used in building and infrastructure workflows.

Tech Soft 3D linked the update to improving developer workflows across multiple industries. The company said it plans to continue expanding file format support as technical requirements evolve, with a focus on enabling applications that support engineering workflows.
