- Secure at least one subcontract with a U.S. federal government prime contractor
- Partner with at least one prime contractor or OEM
The DefenseTech Accelerator helps companies scale technologies for defense and commercial use. Five companies were selected for this year’s program: Titomic, FC Renew, MESO Space, SkyfireAI, and Vivum AI. The program supports the development of solutions that meet the priorities of the U.S. Department of the Air Force and the Department of Defense (DoD).
The 2025 cohort launched on Sep 30, 2025, at The University of Alabama in Huntsville’s Invention to Innovation Center (I²C), where companies will participate through Dec 2025. The Accelerator provides mentorship, business development support, and connections to defense and commercial partners.
Sarah Neeley, COO of Titomic said: “Titomic is honored to be part of this prestigious program. The DefenseTech Accelerator represents a unique opportunity to collaborate with U.S. defense stakeholders and demonstrate how our advanced manufacturing technologies can enhance readiness and performance.”
This milestone marks Titomic’s move to become a partner to the U.S. DoD. By operating within Huntsville’s defense network and engaging with Air Force and DoD stakeholders, the company is positioning itself to support hypersonics, missile defense, aerospace, space, and sustainment programs.
Jim Simpson, CEO and managing director of Titomic commented: “Participation in the DefenseTech Accelerator enhances Titomic’s integration into the U.S. defense industrial base, aligning with its mission to provide resilient, rapid, and scalable advanced manufacturing solutions for national security needs.”
The initiative is supported by Innovate Alabama and sponsors Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Alabama, Regions Bank, and Synovus. It also leverages the Innovate Alabama Tax Credit Program, which allows state tax allocations to fund innovation and job growth.
