WESTMINSTER, CO, Sep 10, 2026 – Trimble has acquired Terasat Japan, adding centimeter-level VRS correction coverage for the geospatial, construction, automotive, and agriculture industries in Japan.
Terasat Japan supplies Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) corrections based on data from the Geospatial Information Authority of Japan (GSI) Continuously Operating Reference Stations (CORS) network, more than 1,300 stations across the Japanese archipelago. Trimble VRS is a network RTK (Real-Time Kinematic) correction service that sends GNSS data over cellular connections. Full GNSS constellation tracking and built-in redundancy keep the service running in steep terrain, heavy tree canopy, and urban canyons.

It also allows us to expand into mass-market applications like IoT and autonomous driving in Japan.”
Trimble VRS networks are also available in North America, Europe, Australia, and New Zealand.
