WESTMINSTER, CO, Jan 7, 2026 – Trimble will provide positioning data for the navigation and driver assistance systems in the Lucid Gravity. Using Trimble RTX and ProPoint Go, the positioning engine delivers cm-level accuracy in tunnels, parking garages, and dense urban areas where GPS signals degrade. Lucid Gravity is the first EV to use a resilient positioning engine designed to maintain accuracy when satellite navigation struggles.

By fusing satellite signals with 6-axis inertial sensors, the positioning solution delivers higher accuracy for vehicle navigation. While conventional automotive navigation systems creates a margin of error (measured in meters), Trimble technology narrows error to a few centimeters and helps confirm the car’s lane and position.

“This collaboration marks a major shift in how vehicles perceive the world,” said Olivier Casabianca, vice president, advanced positioning at Trimble. “The Lucid Gravity is the first electric vehicle to fully integrate Trimble’s sensor fusion engine. We aren’t just helping the car find the road; we are enabling it to drive with resilience and reliability in the most challenging environments on earth.”

Trimble’s technology enhances five aspects of the Lucid Gravity driver experience:

  • Unbroken navigation: By serving as the primary source for location, velocity and heading, the system prevents the “searching for signal” lag often experienced in urban areas.
  • Hands-free confidence: High-accuracy geolocation is fed into the Hands-Free Driving Assist (HFDA) system, ensuring the vehicle knows where to go on the highway.
  • Range you can trust: Precise altitude data improves battery range estimates by adjusting remaining mileage based on actual road elevation and terrain.
  • Next-gen infotainment: Lane-level data unlocks capabilities within mobile apps and dashboard ecosystem.
  • Fleet intelligence: High-fidelity tracking allows for monitoring of fleet assets.

Availability

Starting in late Jan’26, new Lucid Gravity vehicles will ship with the Trimble positioning solution. Vehicles already in service will gain the same functionality through an over-the-air (OTA) software update.
