WESTMINSTER, CO, Dec 12, 2025 – Trimble released SketchUp AI, a suite of AI tools that automate modeling, visualization and navigation tasks within the SketchUp 3D platform. SketchUp AI integrates with existing workflows to reduce manual work and support decisions throughout the design process.

SketchUp AI adds two tools – AI Render and AI Assistant – which help designers work in SketchUp and turn ideas into visuals.

AI Render

AI Render (formerly SketchUp Diffusion), is SketchUp’s generative AI image creation tool that speeds visualization and supports design workflows. AI Render offers a redesigned interface and enhanced controls, including Reference Images, Inpainting and Negative Prompts.

AI Render lets designers pair a SketchUp model with a text prompt and/or predefined styles to create images for concepts iterations to client deliverables. AI Render also allows users to refine generated images, such as altering colors and materials, or adding entourage.

AI Assistant

AI Assistant is an AI-powered SketchUp chatbot and 3D modeling tool that supports navigation, troubleshooting and create 3D geometry. Its Generate Object feature converts text prompts or images into 3D objects in SketchUp. Users provide a description or drag an image into the interface, and AI Assistant generates the model, eliminating manual modeling steps.

“The design process should feel intuitive, not cumbersome,” said Sandra Winstead, senior director of product management at Trimble. “We are continually pushing the boundaries of what’s possible with AI. By reducing time-consuming tasks and lowering the barrier to entry for modeling and visualization, SketchUp AI empowers professionals to explore creative ideas more freely, work more efficiently and make informed decisions at every stage of the design process – all within SketchUp.”
