LAS VEGAS, NV (CONEXPO-CON/AGG), Mar 6, 2026 – Volvo CE is displaying the 56-ton crawler excavator EC560 at CONEXPO at the Volvo CE booth in the Festival Grounds ahead of its commercial release in early 2027. The machine targets heavy infrastructure, quarry and aggregates, and building applications. The preview gives engineers and equipment operators an early look at the excavator before market availability.

“We’re excited to give CONEXPO attendees the very first look at our EC560,” said Sejong Ko, product manager – large excavators at Volvo CE. “This model is a direct response to customer demand for a machine that offers the size and strength for heavy production work along with the finesse, fuel efficiency and comfort of our next-gen platform. It’s a great example of how we’re growing this series to meet every challenge our customers face.”

Expanding the Next-Gen Lineup

Volvo CE positions the EC560 within its excavator series to bridge the gap between existing size classes. The machine includes a redesigned cab and Human Machine Interface (HMI). The design supports mass excavation and material transport tasks.

Volvo CE said its newest excavators feature optimized electro-hydraulics designed to improve cycle times and production output. The EC560 includes a 6 yd³ (4.6 m³) bucket, 3% more digging force, 10% more swing torque and a heavier counterweight for excavation tasks.
