LAS VEGAS, NV (CONEXPO-CON/AGG), Mar 6, 2026 – Volvo CE has introduced updates across its wheel loader lineup to improve safety and productivity in construction and industrial applications. The changes apply to large models L350 and L260 rehandler, mid-size L60, L70, L90 and L120 Electric, and compact L25 Electric and L20 Electric. The updates support operations in quarrying, mining, construction, utilities, logging and agriculture with services like certifiable on-board weighing. These updates support machine uptime, jobsite safety and profitability.
Powering Large-Scale Productivity
Volvo CE has equipped the L350 wheel loader with a Volvo D17 engine that provides more power and up to 5% better fuel efficiency. The D17 engine uses wave piston technology to generate higher torque at lower rpm, supporting smoother low-speed operation and faster boom movement. The L350 also includes Smart Control, a new machine feature which coordinates hydraulic, driveline and engine functions during machine operation. The L350 is also designed to support jobsite productivity and reduce costs.
“High-production environments are the ultimate test of a machine’s value,” said Eric Yeomans, product manager – wheel loaders at Volvo CE. “These updates ensure the L350 remains the powerhouse on jobsites while helping customers reduce fuel burn and lower their TCO.”
The L260 heavy-duty rehandler builds on the L260 platform for specialized material handling tasks. The machine includes a heavier integrated counterweight for higher loading capacity. Operators can use a 10.7 yd³ (8.2 m³) bucket with a standard boom or a 9.5 yd³ (7.3 m³) bucket with a long boom. The rehandler also includes Automatic Traction Control, which helps reduce tire wear and operator fatigue.

Bringing Big-Machine Efficiency to Mid-Size Models
Volvo CE has added Reverse By Braking (RBB) and OptiShift technologies to the mid-size L60, L70, and L90 wheel loaders. The features were previously used on larger models and reduce power losses and driveline wear while improving fuel efficiency by up to 15%.
The three models, along with the L110 and L120, can also be factory fitted with OilQuick, an automatic quick coupler system. The coupler allows operators to connect and disconnect hydraulic attachments from inside the cab.
Volvo CE has updated the 22-ton L120 Electric wheel loader with changes to machine control and safety systems. The machine includes rimpull control to manage traction in slippery conditions and a electric brake valve that enables full RBB functionality even when battery charge is high or temperatures are extreme. The braking system also works with the energy recuperation feature, which can recover up to 15% of energy. The L120 is used in waste and recycling applications, and offers a waste handling package. The package includes a cab air pre-cleaner and machine guarding.
New-Gen Compact Electric Models Arrive in North America
Volvo CE has introduced the third-generation L20 Electric and L25 Electric compact wheel loaders in North America. The L20 Electric received a 21% increase in standard battery capacity, matching with the L25 Electric. Both machines include additional attachment options and air conditioning.
Expanding Technology and Site Solutions

Volvo CE offers certifiable on-board weighing for wheel loader models L110 through L260, excluding the L120 Electric. The system is available in Europe and will be piloted in North America. The technology can receive third-party certification for trade, enabling load measurements to be used for billing. The weighing system also integrates with Load Ticket, which transmits load tickets wirelessly from the machine to the site office.
“This technology digitizes the entire load-out process, from loading to invoicing,” said Jenny Olsen, product manager – productivity services at Volvo CE. “Combined with the machine updates, we’re providing solutions that offer increased productivity as a loader fills a truck, quick and accurate certified weighing, and a digital load ticket that goes straight to a customer’s ERP software and an invoice to their customer – all in less time than it would have taken for the operator to stop at the scales.”
Volvo CE offers Volvo Smart View with 360° for wheel loader models L150 through L260. The system uses four cameras to provide a bird’s-eye view on the Volvo Co-Pilot display. The display helps operators identify obstacles and monitor areas near the machine.
“From compact wheel loaders to the massive L350 to our technology services, our goal is simple,” Yeomans said. “We want to ensure the long-term viability and profitability of every fleet by maximizing their uptime, productivity and safety.”
