NEW YORK, NY and SAN RAFAEL, CA, Oct 5, 2026 – Wandercraft has acquired Ekso Bionics, combining medical exoskeletons used at more than 700 rehabilitation centers worldwide with devices for personal mobility. The company plans to continue supporting all four products: Atalante X, EksoNR, Eve and Indego Personal.

The acquisition combines Wandercraft’s robotics and physical AI technology with Ekso Bionics’ clinical and commercial operations. It also connects Wandercraft’s presence in Europe, the Middle East and Africa with Ekso Bionics’ U.S. operations.

“We share a vision for how robotics can empower people whose mobility has been unfairly limited by injury or disease,” said Matthieu Masselin, CEO and co-founder of Wandercraft. “Both companies have pioneered advanced technologies to help people stand, walk, and participate more fully in everyday life. By bringing together our products, teams, and clinical relationships on both sides of the Atlantic, we have an exceptional opportunity to expand access to robotic mobility worldwide, reach more patients and rehabilitation professionals, and help more people experience the independence and connection that upright mobility can offer.”

Rehabilitation and Personal Mobility

Atalante X and EksoNR assist patients with standing and walking during rehabilitation. The two products collectively hold U.S. Food and Drug Administration clearances and CE marking covering stroke, spinal cord injury, multiple sclerosis and acquired brain injury. For personal use, Eve provides hands-free, self-balancing assistance in the home, while Indego Personal uses a modular wearable design. Both serve individuals with spinal cord injuries.

“Ekso has spent two decades pioneering robotic technologies, advancing engineering and R&D, and building a robust body of clinical research and evidence that has earned the trust of clinicians and the people who rely on our products,” said Scott Davis, CEO of Ekso Bionics. “Joining Wandercraft represents an exciting next chapter, uniting two organizations with a shared commitment to mobility, rehabilitation, and innovation. Together, we can build on that trailblazing work and expand our ability to develop and deploy technologies that make a meaningful difference for more people.”

Training, Reimbursement and Support

Patients are receiving training at the Wandercraft rehabilitation center. A team assists users and care teams with benefits, documentation, reimbursement, financing and coordination with clinicians and payers.

Medicare covers qualifying personal exoskeletons under its brace benefit category for U.S. patients meeting eligibility and medical necessity requirements. The devices are billed under Healthcare Common Procedure Coding System (code K1007). Rehabilitation centers can consult specialists familiar with both Atalante X and EksoNR when assessing devices for patients. Wandercraft will maintain support for each product.
