AUSTIN, TX, Sep 2, 2026 – Woolpert has appointed Jen Sorenson executive vice president of infrastructure. Sorenson joins Woolpert from Atlas, where she was senior vice president of infrastructure, and will be based in Woolpert’s Austin, Texas, office.
At Atlas, Sorenson oversaw growth, operations and more than 800 employees across the western U.S. Earlier in her career, she held senior leadership positions at AECOM and AtkinsRéalis.
A licensed civil engineer, Sorenson has more than 20 years of experience in the architecture, engineering and construction (AEC) industry. Her project work has spanned transportation, water, federal and municipal markets. She started in technical delivery, field operations and stakeholder engagement before moving into executive roles at global engineering firms.
In her new role, Sorenson will lead Woolpert’s infrastructure sector, which covers the transportation, aviation, water, wastewater, stormwater and energy markets. She will oversee the sector’s organic and acquisitive growth strategy, operational improvements, investments and business development.
Sorenson holds a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from the University of North Dakota and a master’s degree in environmental and water resources engineering from the University of Texas. She recently completed the Harvard Business Analytics Program. She has been named one of America’s Top 10 Women of Distinction by “The Chief Navigators” and one of the Top 50 Women Leaders of Texas by “Women We Admire”.
