ENGtechnica offers information and insights on topics that interest engineers, designers, and architects. Whether it’s news that requires technical explanation, identifying what’s essential in a software release or innovative in a new software product, or separating reality from the hype around the latest tech trend, ENGtechnica authors and editors, all experts in their fields, are here to explain it to the design and engineering community.

ENGtechnica is founded on the belief that those who understand technology should explain it to others. It’s engineer-to-engineer communication, but also engineers breaking down technology for a public that wants to know “why?” or is overwhelmed by jargon, buzzwords and hype.

ENGtechnica is committed to editorial integrity, which means telling the truth about technology to those who use it—not to those who sell it. Unlike most business-to-business media, online or print, ENGtechnica accepts no advertising.

ENGtechnica was founded by Roopinder Tara, an engineer with nearly 30 years of engineering experience, the last 20 years in design and engineering-related publishing. He was the editor-in-chief of CADENCE magazine, founder of TenLinks.com, and, most recently, executive editor at engineering.com. Throughout his career, he has been an advocate for CAD and CAE users and a proud member of the engineering profession.
