WHITE RIVER JUNCTION, VT, Apr 17, 2025 – Concepts NREC has released the latest update V2025.1 to its Agile Engineering Design System (AEDS), a software suite that combines CAE and CAM tools specialized for turbomachinery.

V2025.1 is a new release and includes the first release of the ARMD rotordynamics software as an integrated part of the AEDS. Users can launch ARMD from within AxCent to analyze rotordynamics in real time during the design process. The release also includes the integration of ADS Code LEO, a GPU powered CFD code that can run 15-120X faster than other commercially available turbomachinery CFD solvers. In addition, the cycle analysis software CYCAL is available as part of the AEDS.

All of the modules have new capabilities, including the addition of secondary flow models for seals in all of the meanline codes, the transfer of the seal geometry to AxCent and pbCF and the ability to analyze leakage paths in pbCFD. TurboOpt II ties everything together with a new Design of Experiments (DOE) feature to explore design tradeoffs in all areas. The machining software, MAX-PAC has undergone an upgrade to the MAX-SI module of 5 axis machining of integrally shrouded impellers.

Dr. Peter Weitzman, president of Agile Engineering Software commented, “The new release provides turbomachinery designers some powerful new tools at their fingertips, the ability to do rotordynamics analysis in parallel with aero design and the ability to run CFD 15-120X faster on GPUs will deliver huge competitive advantages to our users.”
