by | Apr 15, 2025

TROY, MI, Apr 15, 2025 – Altair has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Korea Military Academy (KMA) to foster the next generation of defense artificial intelligence (AI) experts in South Korea. Under the agreement, Altair will provide the KMA with free access to its AI and simulation software within the Altair HyperWorks and Altair RapidMiner platforms for the next three years.

“We are proud to partner with the KMA to empower the next wave of innovation in defense through AI and simulation,” said Songsoo Moon, senior vice president, APAC, Altair. “This MoU marks the beginning of a broader academic-industry collaboration model that will foster technological advancements throughout the defense sector.”

“We expect this collaboration to energize defense research and education through the use of AI and simulation technologies,” said Major General Hyeonggi So, superintendent, KMA. “With Altair’s support, we will continue to drive the development of next-generation military technologies and cultivate future defense leaders.”

Altair’s AI-powered simulation technology models complex military scenarios that are often challenging or dangerous to replicate in real life. By analyzing these scenarios virtually, this method lowers risk while improving decision-making and equipment development.
