AMETEK to Acquire FARO Technologies

A new $920 million deal, offering a 40% premium, is expected to wrap up by the end of 2025. It’s a move focused on combining tech strengths and reaching wider markets.

BERWYN, PA and LAKE MARY, FL, May 7, 2025 – AMETEK, Inc. has announced a definitive agreement to acquire FARO Technologies, Inc. for $44 per share in cash. The deal represents a 40% premium over FARO’s closing stock price on May 5, 2025, and assigns the company an enterprise value of approximately $920 million. The acquisition has been approved by the boards of directors of both companies.

The completion of the transaction is subject to customary closing conditions, including regulatory approvals and approval by FARO Technologies’ shareholders. The transaction is expected to close in the second half of 2025.
